"Receiving date for EU entry talks for Macedonia is connected with the name issue and we expect after the formation of new parliament and government, UN mediator Matthew Nimetz to undertake concrete activities to dynamize issue and finally to reach mutually acceptable solution", President Gjorge Ivanov said Saturday during his visit to Dojran.

- Firstly we should congratulate the Croats on receiving positive signal from Brussels. It is positive as well for entire region and encouragement for Macedonia. As EU Commissioner Stefan Fule said Macedonia is the next to receive date for negotiations. It is connected with the name issue and we expect after formation of new parliament and government Mr. Nimetz to undertake concrete activities to dynamize this issue and finally to reach mutually acceptable solution, Ivanov said.

Such announcements of EU Commissioner Fule are quite realistic, Ivanov said.

- We are realists in Macedonia. We expect the Greek side as well to act constructively as we are constructive to any proposal presented by Mr. Nimetz and to contribute the region to live in peace in accordance with the democratic perspectives of the Balkans, Ivanov said.

Regarding the protests organised regarding the death of the young boy Martin Neskoski, President expressed his deepest concern and condolences to Neskoski’s family.

- There are no words that can ease the pain of the family but what can be done at this point is the institutions to conduct their work appropriately and the justice to be satisfied, Ivanov said.
