BEH signs cooperation memorandum with Westinghouse

The Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) and the US-based company Westinghouse Electric Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Sofia in the presence of Bulgaria’s PM Boyko Borissov.

The Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) and the US-based company Westinghouse Electric Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Sofia in the presence of Bulgaria’s PM Boyko Borissov.

The document is entitled Memorandum of Understanding for the Studying of Cooperation Opportunities in Nuclear Energy and refers to extending the life of the operating units and electronic control and measuring equipment of Bulgaria’s Kozloduy NPP, and also to the phasing out and dismantling of the first four reactors.

PM Borissov stated that the cabinet would do its best to make it possible for the operating reactors to continue work for at least another 10 years after their design lifetime.
