Azerbaijan is ready to deliver as much as 1 bn cub. m of natural gas to Bulgaria as of 2014, after the gas interconnections between Greece and Bulgaria are completed.

This was settled by energy ministers Traich Traikov (Bulgaria) and Natig Aliev (Azerbaijan) during the forum Crans Montana which is taking place in Brussels. Azerbaijan is the country partner of the forum.

The settled amount of gas that Azerbaijan might deliver to Bulgaria through Turkey is over 1 bn cub. m a year. The gas transfer would start before the completion of the second stage of Shah Deniz gas deposit which is to supply gas for Nabucco gas pipeline.

Azeri gas and oil state company SOCAR and Bulgaria’s Bulgartransgaz are to continue the talks over the route of the supplies within two months.

The two energy ministers further discussed the project for CNG supply through the Black Sea which is currently undergoing a feasibility study.
