Car parts maker Yazaki invests 4 mln euros in Caracal-based plant

The Yazaki company, the world's largest producer of wiring harnesses officially launched the plant in Caracal (Olt county, south-west of Bucharest), an investment of 4 million euros, to be one of the main suppliers for the new model car that Ford shall produce in Craiova.

The Caracal plant started production in March 2011 and will reach its maximum capacity in the second half of 2012.
At present, Yazaki has over 500 employees but the number of jobs will amount soon to 1,000, as the company is Romania's second largest Japanese employer, Managing Director of Yazaki Romania Jorge Damasceno said.
The launching ceremony of the production unit was attended by Prime Minister Emil Boc, who underscored the Romanian Government's support for this investment.
'An investor who creates 5,000 jobs in Romania and makes an investment worth over 80 million euros deserves to be respected and supported,' the head of the Executive pointed out.
