The Vienna Insurance Group is the new majority shareholder in Jahorina Osiguranje AD Pale insurance company.
The prospective acquisition of non-life insurer Jahorina was first announced in September.
The Vienna Insurance Group has acquired approximately 91.7% of the company's overall capital and approximately 96.6% of the voting shares in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina firm.
The Vienna Insurance Group will subsequently issue a takeover bid to all remaining voting shareholders of the company in accordance with local legislation.
As a result of the acquisition the Vienna Insurance Group is now active in the emerging Bosnia and Herzegovina market, its 25th market worldwide.
