The situation in Montenegro deteriorated due to incessant snow which had fallen during the last night and caused new problems.

Therefore, Prime Minister Igor Lukšić remarked earlier today, there was a need to undertake a few additional activities such as suspension of classes in schools in the northern and central part of the country, setting up an additional team within the Police Administration to additionally help the citizens and greater participation of citizens in removing snow.
At the moment, in his words, the top priority is to evacuate 45 passengers from the train that has been stuck on the railway Kolašin - Podgorica since Friday, adding that extensive efforts have been made to make this happen.
The Prime Minister on this occasion thanked the citizens, in particular praising the supporting group “Varvari”, but all the others as well who have helped police and army members in alleviating the negative effects of severe weather.
He also praised the media for the high quality and in detail informing the public about the Government’s appeals to raise the level of solidarity and accountability and the implementation of the Government’s directions.
Today, will be a working day in Montenegro (except for education institutions), Prime Minister emphasised, adding that all the employees have to make their contribution to a better functioning of life.
He noted that even though the weather conditions stabilise in the coming period, there will still be a need to remove the bad weather effects. Unfortunately, he concluded, there are high chances of another cyclone during the week and everyone has to be prepared.
