Serbian President Boris Tadic has assessed that without the consent of Serbia, Kosmet could never become a member of UN, while stressing that the entity which is not a member of that world organization will essentially never be an independent state.

Serbian President Boris Tadic has assessed that without the consent of Serbia, Kosmet could never become a member of UN, while stressing that the entity which is not a member of that world organization will essentially never be an independent state.

It clearly shows that the problem of the future status of Kosmet cannot be resolved without Serbia, Tadic told the ODBRANA magazine, published by the Serbian Army.

The strategy of putting Serbia to an impasse through accelerated recognitions of the Kosmet independence yields no results, among other things because Serbia has brought this issue to international institutions – UN General Assembly and the International Court of Justice, underlined the Serbian President.

He assessed that in the end a constructive, peaceful and sustainable solution must be attained, acceptable for both sides.
