Feith: Parallel structures should be dissolved

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the proclamation of Kosovo's independence, Feith evaluated that good progress had been made in Serbia's southern province, adding that his current task is to monitor the functioning of the institutions in Kosovo.
The strategy for the north of Kosovo is possible if the local population accepts it, Head of the ICO in Kosovo Pieter Feith said, adding that he believes that parallel structures in the area should be dissolved. In an interview with Free Europe, Feith claimed that the European Union has a positive interest in the next steps in that area, adding that the ICO wants to consult Belgrade on the next steps.

Feith underscored that he believes his role will gradually fade out, although he will have the authorization vested in him under the plan drawn up by Martti Ahtisaari, if necessary even in the part of executive competencies.
