10 persons were arrested for falsification of official documents. Investigations carried by the economic anti-crime office close to the Police Directorate in Tirana proved that the people implied in this criminal activity gained from Lek 100,000 to Lek 700,000 for every false document.

Through the “Card” coded operation, police arrested all the people who were implied in this activity, whose age varies from 40 to 50 years old.

“They were arrested thanks to 8 months of investigation, time during which we applied special investigation methods. We also have gathered the necessary information about this tendentious criminal activity know as ‘Falsification of documents’. During the investigation process we gathered enough evidence to prove that the above mentioned citizens, in cooperation with each other, created false documents. Then, they sold them for sums that varied from Euro 100 to Lek 700,000. We have also come to the conclusion that these citizens helped other people to illegally cross the border,” said Director of the Police Directorate of Tirana, Tonin Vocaj.

According to Vocaj, the false documents were mainly used for illegal emigration. During several months of investigation, the police found five falsification bases, where they seized 6 scanners for documents, 6 central units, an equipment for creating stamps, 8 Schengen visas, 250 national and international driver’s licenses, 2000 stay permissions uncompleted, 5 USB devices with programs for creating false documents and 2 false passports.
