UNESCO World Heritage Days marked in Kosovo-Metohija

Serbian Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic told Tanjug that the Holy Emperor Constantine medal he received from Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej at the Lazarica Church in Krusevac on Sunday is a symbol of support for the Culture Ministry's efforts to protect and promote Serbian cultural heritage.
Serbian Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic told Tanjug that the Holy Emperor Constantine medal he received from Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej at the Lazarica Church in Krusevac on Sunday is a symbol of support for the Culture Ministry's efforts to protect and promote Serbian cultural heritage.
Bradic said that protecting cultural heritage is a duty of the state, but also of all institutions and individual citizens.
"Cultural heritage is an inheritance we received from past generations, but at the same time it is an inheritance we owe to future generations. This is why it is very important that the Ministry of Culture and other institutions in charge of protecting cultural heritage cooperate with the Serbian Orthodox Church," the culture minister pointed out.
Reminding that he received the medal on UNESCO World Heritage Day, Bradic stressed that the heritage in Kosovo and Metohija, listed as a World Heritage Site, is particularly important for Serbia and deserving of special attention
UNESCO World Heritage Days marked in Leposavic, Kosovo-Metohija and Serbian Culture Minister Nebojša Bradić assessed the event as very important, adding that is an opportunity of speaking about Serbia’s cultural heritage everywhere.
A monograph on Serbia’s cultural heritage, the first expert presentation of Serbia’s cultural heritage in the UNESCO list, will be presented in the cultural centre.
Serbian monuments in Kosmet, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2006, are being threatened and demand special protection measures, it is emphasized in the Ministry.
