China to help modernise Kostolac mine

Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Skundric and a delegation of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) met with representatives of the Chinese government during their visit to China to discuss modernisation of the Kostolac mine and thermal plant.

Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Skundric and a delegation of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) met with representatives of the Chinese government during their visit to China to discuss modernisation of the Kostolac mine and thermal plant.

Skundric invited Chinese companies to join together with Serbia in the project of building a nuclear plant at Belene in Bulgaria.

The Minister stressed that representatives of Bulgaria recently made an offer for Serbia to participate in this deal, and added that cooperation with China could be valuable.

He said that the government of China is interested in the offer, adding that talks will be continued with the representatives of the Chinese Energy Agency in the upcoming days.
