Vice President Joseph Biden: Hashim Thaçi is Kosovo’s George Washington

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi was received in the White House by the US Vice President, Joseph Biden.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi was received in the White House by the US Vice President, Joseph Biden.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and Vice President Joseph Biden discussed current political
developments in Kosovo and the region, sustainable economic development and the fulfillment of all democratic standards by the Kosovo institutions.

At the start, Prime Minister Thaçi expressed his consideration and deep thanks for the contribution of the United States to the liberation and independence of Kosovo, and now to the development of its economic sustainability and comprehensive development.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Thaçi re-emphasized the position of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the people of Kosovo to maintain a permanent relationship with the United States of America.

In the meeting with US Vice President Joseph Biden, Prime Minister Thaçi expressed his conviction that the after the opinion of the International Court of Justice, a new wave of recognition for the state of Kosovo would begin, proving like this that Kosovo’s independence has brought more peace, stability and development to the region, - stated Prime Minister Thaçi.

On the other hand, the US Vice President Joseph Biden, expressed his great respect for the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to the rule of law and order in Kosovo, their determination in the
uncompromising struggle against corruption and organized crime, sustainable economic development, the affirmative respect for community rights, and other developmental processes.

In the meeting, the US Vice President, Biden, reconfirmed the US position that Kosovo’s independence is
irreversible and that there will be only forward movement towards integration and sustainable economic development for all countries of the region.

Vice President Joseph Biden emphasized that Hashim Thaçi is Kosovo’s George Washington.

Vice President Biden assured Prime Minister Thaçi that Kosovo’s territorial integrity remains inviolable and that law and order should be implemented throughout all Kosovo’s territory.

Vice President Biden emphasized that Kosovo’s future is guaranteed by NATO and the European Union.
