Ashton: EU is the future of Pristina and Belgrade

EU High representative for Foreign policy Catherine Ashton invited Kosovo and Serbia to set up talks. Supporting the decision taken by the Court of Justice in the Hague, she stated that ''Now the priority is to look to the future. Serbia's future is with the EU, and so is Kosovo's''.

EU High representative for Foreign policy Catherine Ashton invited Kosovo and Serbia to set up talks. Supporting the decision taken by the Court of Justice in the Hague, she stated that ''Now the priority is to look to the future. Serbia's future is with the EU, and so is Kosovo's''.

Ashton guaranteed that the European Union ''is ready to sponsor talks between Pristina and Belgrade''. The verdict will be examined by the foreign ministers of the 27 Countries that will meet in Brussels on Monday.

Five EU Countries still have to recognise Kosovo's independence: Spain, Slovakia, Cyprus, Romania and Greece.
