Rehn: Kosovo on the right path to economic development

European Union Commissioner for Economy and Monetary Policy, Olli Rehn, during a meeting with the Kosovo Minister of Finance and Economy, Ahmet Shala, has expressed support for Kosovo's membership in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

European Union Commissioner for Economy and Monetary Policy, Olli Rehn, during a meeting with the Kosovo Minister of Finance and Economy, Ahmet Shala, has expressed support for Kosovo's membership in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Commissioner Rehn said that Kosovo is on the right path to economic development.

"I would like to say that the European Commission remains committed to assist the socio-economic development of Kosovo," Rehn said.

Minister Shala said that Kosovo's government has carefully designed projects for funds coming from the international community and has clear priorities for economic development.

Shala said that Kosovo is closer to membership in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He is optimistic that Kosovo will be able to get the votes needed to be part of this very important institution.
