One of the most important representatives of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Wolfgang Grossruck, defined the June 28 elections as the best elections ever organized in Albania.

One of the most important representatives of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Wolfgang Grossruck, defined the June 28 elections as the best elections ever organized in Albania.

Meanwhile, when talking about the opposition’s request to open the ballot boxes, Grossruck said that this could happen only if foreseen by the Constitution of Albania.

If someone does not agree with the result of the elections, his only weapon is the constitution. Grossruck emphasized that boycott of political life is the worse way the opposition could follow.

“The report we prepared was supported by all members and it complied with the standards of NATO and of the European Union (EU). It noted that June 28 elections were the best elections ever to be carried in Albania, and everything went as it should. If someone does not agree with this, then he should change the constitution, which was adopted with 2/3 of the total number of votes, including votes from the opposition,” said Grossruck.

As for visa liberalization, the head of the responsible delegation for monitoring the last year’s elections in Albania said that all parties in Austria have agreed to visa liberalization for Albanians.

Grossruck made these declarations in Saranda, where he spent some of his holidays. Grossruck had visited several parts of Albania, from the northern to the southern part of the country. He was personally invited by Mayor of Saranda Edmond Gjoka.
