EULEX: Searches in Srbica area are finished

During these searches Kosovo Police, from the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Kosovo (SPRK) collected documents and computers.

The searches at four private houses and at the municipality of Srbica in connection with an investigation into fraudulent allocation of social housing have finished.

The documents and information gathered during the searches will now be analysed by prosecutors and police investigators from the SPRK.

A EULEX pre-trial judge from the Mitrovica District court authorized the searches.

The ongoing investigation is led by the SPRK.

A SPRK team, including a EULEX special prosecutor, and the EULEX liaison officer to the SPRK, were present at the scene in order to provide oversight, to ensure the effective gathering of evidential material and to provide a full and proper explanation to persons present at the scene.
