After the signing of the Protocol, Jeremic said that the priority of Serbia’s foreign policy in 2011 will be regional cooperation and noted that the Protocol on cooperation between Serbia, Luxembourg and Montenegro on the transfer of Belex Fix system is a step in this direction.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic and his Luxembourgian and Montenegrin counterparts Jean Asselborn and Milan Rocen respectively signed today in Luxembourg the Protocol of technology transfer in the stock exchange business.

After the signing of the Protocol, Jeremic said that the priority of Serbia’s foreign policy in 2011 will be regional cooperation and noted that the Protocol on cooperation between Serbia, Luxembourg and Montenegro on the transfer of Belex Fix system is a step in this direction.

He explained that according to this Protocol, the Belgrade Stock Exchange, as the best operating stock exchange in the Balkans and the Luxembourgian system Belex Fix will pass their experiences and train employees at Podgorica Stock Exchange.

Jeremic said that he asked for support from Luxembourg and Montenegro for the investigation of allegations from the report of the Special Rapporteur of the Council of Europe Dick Marty on trafficking in human organs in Kosovo-Metohija.

It is very important that this investigation be carried out until the end, Jeremic underlined.

This is a huge moral test for the international community and we must do all we can to enable fully transparent cooperation in order to get to the bottom of this matter.

The accusations in Marty’s report are frightening and we must not let this affair be pushed under the rug for the sake of any pragmatic interests, he added.

Asselborn said that excellent cooperation has been established with the Belgrade Stock Exchange and that the same principle of cooperation will now be established with the Stock Exchange of Podgorica.

Asselborn announced that around €670,000 will be set aside for the project of transfer of knowledge and technology for Podgorica Stock Exchange over next three years.

He reiterated that his country will continue to support Serbia and Montenegro in the process of European integration.

The European Commission is preparing an opinion on Serbia and its preparedness for obtaining the EU candidate status, while Montenegro is already a candidate, Asselborn noted.

Commenting on the report of Dick Marty on human organ trafficking in Kosovo-Metohija, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg said that the EU believes that these accusations are very serious and that they must be thoroughly investigated very soon.

He pointed out that it is important that dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina start as soon as possible.

Rocen said that the system Belex Fix will significantly improve the work of Podgorica Stock Exchange and provide important information on financial markets. He added that with this Protocol, Montenegro is complying with EU directives on financial markets.
