The European Commission has "no credibility problem" on human trafficking after a Council of Europe report accused EU institutions of silently tolerating Kosovo abuses, home affairs chief Cecilia Malmstrom has said.

The European Commission has "no credibility problem" on human trafficking after a Council of Europe report accused EU institutions of silently tolerating Kosovo abuses, home affairs chief Cecilia Malmstrom has said.

Presenting an anti-trafficking platform, she underlined the importance of the issue and stressed that "it's a shame that this horrible crime still goes on within the EU," the independent online newspaper EUobserver reported.

However, when asked to take a stance on the report published last week by Dick Marty, which speaks about human organ trafficking in Kosovo, she stuck to a "no comment" line. Malmstrom said that she "cannot comment a "report which was "not issued by the European Commission" and which she "has read about in the media."
