Discussing the current economic situation, Mr Karamanolis has underlined that “The macroeconomic indicators of Serbia are going in the right direction, but the figures of growth are still rather low, so that an ordinary citizen cannot feel a significant difference”.

“I think that this year will be the year of slower recovery, rather similar to the second half of 2010. The forecasts for the growth in 2011 range around three percent. On the other hand, we are aware of the fact that the inflatory pressure will be high, which leads to the NBS being forced to take certain measures that will not contribute to the growth,” said Filippos Karamanolis, President of the Executive Board in Eurobank EFG.

“The exchange rate will certainly be somewhat more stable and new investments are expected with the sale of “Telekom”, and the investments of Fiat.

The two-week strengthening of repo has made the Dinar more attractive to foreign investors, so we do not expect the Euro exchange rate to be above 115 Dinars,” says Filippos Karamanolis.
