Zoran Stankovic, former defence minister of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro and former head of the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade, was proposed for the position of the Serbian health minister on Monday.

The decision was made by G17 Plus, member of the ruling coalition, at a meeting of the party's leadership, Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports and G17 official Snezana Samardzic Markovic told a news conference.

If the parliament appoints him as health minister, Stankovic will replace former minister Tomica Milosavljevic, also a member of G17 plus, who resigned on January 28 due to personal reasons.
