Serbia has attracted almost EUR 700 million in direct foreign investments through 151 projects since 2006, when it started implementing the directive on attracting foreign investments, said Aleksandar Miloradovic, the public relations manager at Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA).

This was achieved with around EUR 80 million in subsidies and 23,000 jobs were created in the process, Miloradovic told Radio and Television of Serbia.

Every euro invested from the budget brings in eight euros in direct investments and creates jobs, and on average it yields a return within 17 months in greenfield projects and under a year in brownfield projects, he noted.
