IFC, Credit Agricole grant EUR 40 mln loan to Frikom

The International Financial Corporation (IFC) stated on Feb. 9 that it granted a EUR25 million loan to the ice cream and frozen foods manufacturer Frikom from Belgrade, designated for increasing its production capacity.
The International Financial Corporation (IFC) stated on Feb. 9 that it granted a EUR25 million loan to the ice cream and frozen foods manufacturer Frikom from Belgrade, designated for increasing its production capacity.
According to the statement, parallel with that the Credit Agricole Bank granted a EUR15 million loan to Frikom, which is the property of the Croatian company Agrokor.
In this way the IFC, member of the World Bank Group, and Credit Agricole support Agrokor, the agriculture and trade group and one of the biggest investors in South East Europe, it was said in the statement.
"Agrobusiness is the priority of the IFC in South East Europe and especially in Serbia where many companies need to improve their effectiveness and ensure longterm sustainability in order to completely integrate into the European market," said IFC's director for the Middle East, North Africa and southern Europe Dimitris Tsitsiragos.
