Djelic appointed chief negotiator for EU accession talks

Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic appointed Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Bozidar Djelic head of the negotiating team in Serbia's EU integration process, and made him in charge of the implementation of the action plan for achieving the EU candidate status.

Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic appointed Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Bozidar Djelic head of the negotiating team in Serbia's EU integration process, and made him in charge of the implementation of the action plan for achieving the EU candidate status.

Apart from the EU integration responsibilities that Djelic had so far, he will now be in charge of directing and coordinating investments in science and technological infrastructure, and chair negotiations on Serbia's accession to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the Serbian government's pres office released on Tuesday.

Djelic will also be in charge of coordinating the work of the Ministry of Finance in the areas of regulation of public property rights, the property rights of the Republic of Serbia, public supplies, banking system, securities and capital market.

Furthermore, Djelic will be responsible for coordination of financial relations with foreign countries, as well as Serbia's cooperation with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB).
