Norwegian companies, especially energy producers, are interested in investing in Serbia and several concrete projects are already being considered, Norwegian Ambasssador to Serbia Nils Ragnar Kamsvag has said in an interview for a Belgrade-based monthly.

The Norwegian companies operating in Serbia are reasonably satisfied with their operations here, Kamsvag pointed out, adding that there has for a long time been interest from Norwegian energy companies to invest in Serbia.

“However, some of the companies chose to invest elsewhere in the region,” Kamsvag said in an interview for the May edition of the Belgrade-based CorD Magazine.

The Norwegian companies had different reasons for choosing to invest elsewhere, but one reason which has been given is insufficient transparency in the processes, the Norwegian ambassador explained.

He cited the example of Statskraft, the biggest European producer of sustainable energy, which decided to make major investments in Turkey and Albania.
