The second international choir festival Music Edict, which will host 22 choirs from Italy, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Belarus, Ukraine, Greece, Republika Srpska and Serbia, has opened in Nis.
The spiritual music festival, organized under the patronage of Serbian Patriarch Irinej, started Sunday night at the Svetosavski Dom hall in Nis. The festival will run through June 19, and its goal is to promote Nis as the birth place of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great and lead into the celebration of 17 centuries of Christianity in 2013.
The festival will be held every two years, and in 2013 it will run concurrently with the traditional Nis International Choir Festival.
