Delegation of German economy to Serbia marks its 10th Anniversary

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the Delegation of German Economy to Serbia staged a photo exhibition, and released a bilingual publication entitled "Ten Years of Success", the delegation announced Monday in Belgrade.

Many prominent figures contributed their articles to this publication: Head of the Delegation Michael Schmidt, Deputy CEO of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) Volker Treier, German Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Philipp Roesler and German Ambassador to Serbia Wolfram Maas.

In the last 10 years, this institution has assisted in strengthening of economic ties between the two countries to a great extent. In the period ranging from 2001 to 2011, trade between Germany and Serbia has more than doubled.

Having up to now invested almost EUR 1.5 billion in Serbia, German companies are present in all domains at the numerous locations throughout the country.

Around 360 companies, whose founders are legal entities from Germany, currently hire around 20,000 people.

The Delegation of German Economy to Serbia is a member of the German Chambers of Commerce's (AHK) worldwide network which comprises 120 active offices in 80 countries.
