Representatives of the member countries of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) should meet in Pristina in mid-week to discuss the announcement of the interim institutions in Kosovo to impose tariffs of 10 percent on imports from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

Pristina's Albanian language press reported that the July 30 meeting could see Serbia and BiH putting forward as a topic for discussion the announcement of provincial institutions to introduce measures towards the two countries regarding the flow of goods.

The province's Minister of Trade and Industry Mimoza Kusari-Ljilja said that the introduction of customs duties of 10 percent would not be due until the middle of the following month, to see first if the dialogue concerning the regulation of free movement of goods would yield any results.

Head of the Trade Department of the Pristina's Trade and Industry Ministry Fljamur Keca said they had sent invitations to all CEFTA member countries, including Serbia and BiH. There will be two separate meetings in Pristina, one at the expert level and the other on the level of deputy ministers.

Plans are to discuss the work and results achieved by the the CEFTA parties over the past six months, Keca told Pristina media.

Pristina will start chairing CEFTA as of January 1, 2012. Economy Minister of the province Ahmet Salja said earlier its meetings would be based on the Gymnich model, that is, held without the use of state symbols.
