First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac said in Nis that the Army and police carried out a joint exercise successfully and showed that they are able to protect the state and citizens from all challenges and threats.

After the exercise “Joint Undertaking” which members of the Ministry of the Interior and the Serbian Army performed in the military barracks “Knjaz Mihailo” in Nis, Dacic said that cooperation between the police and the Ministry of the Defence and the Serbian Army is at a very high level and that in this exercise, citizens could see the two ministries’ potentials.

The exercise showed that both the police and the Army are prepared to secure public law and order, combat crime and terrorism and protect citizens’ personal safety and their property, Dacic said.

Sutanovac observed that the defence and police systems are apparently well-integrated, voicing his pleasure at the large number of citizens who attended the exercise.

Similar exercises will be held in other towns in Serbia to promote the Army and the police, two crucial defence elements in every country, he added.

Over 600 members of the Serbian Army and the Ministry of the Interior demonstrated a high level of readiness and showed ways to help civilian authorities in case of security threats.
