Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said in Budva on June 29 that the fight against organized crime will be at the center of Serbia's activities during its mandate at the helm of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP).

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said in Budva on June 29 that the fight against organized crime will be at the center of Serbia's activities during its mandate at the helm of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP).

"We will invest full effort into eliminating this threat to our safety, its main causes and its consequences. We will continue to implement a zero-tolerance policy," Jeremic said at the ministerial meeting of SEECP countries, one day ahead of the summit.

On June 30, Serbia is to take over the one-year presidency over the SEECP from Montenegro. This organization is the highest political forum in the region, which represents the pillar of cooperation in southeastern Europe.

Jeremic warned that the final success in the fight against organized crime, "which spreads like a virus wherever it finds the least resistance," cannot be accomplished without "a much greater joint engagement."

"We firmly believe that the fight against organized crime must be at the center of reform agendas of every country in South-East Europe, just like it is in our country," Jeremic said.
