Rectors of Belgrade University (UB) and of the Russian State University of Trade and Economics, Branko Kovacevic and Sergey Nikolayevich Baburin, respectively, signed an inter-university agreement in Belgrade on Monday.

Rectors of Belgrade University (UB) and of the Russian State University of Trade and Economics, Branko Kovacevic and Sergey Nikolayevich Baburin, respectively, signed an inter-university agreement in Belgrade on Monday.

The signatories agreed that future cooperation should be systemic and not ocassional as before. Our traditional cooperation with the Moscow State University has been excellent over the recent years, taking place mainly in the fields of natural sciences, language, culture and literature, said Kovacevic.

“We expect even better cooperation between our universities, cities and countries. We favor modern-oriented universities. It seems appropriate to mention that there is a great interest here in legal issues pertinent to the oil industry and we need help in this area,” said the Belgrade University rector.

Baburin announced cooperation between students and teachers in designing and implementing a number of projects. He said there would be programs of exchange of Serbian and Russian students and scholars and announced the possibility of obtaining dual degrees.

He also said that representatives of Moscow University should participate in a conference in the Serbian capital in September and host a UB delegation in Russia in October.
