The Police Union of Serbia (PSS) is satisfied with talks they held with representatives of the Ministry of Interior (MUP), but still announced that the strike will continue until they consider the proposals regarding the improvement of financial and social status and work conditions presented at the meeting.

PSS President Veljko Mijailovic stated that the strike will maintain the same intensity.

He stated late Monday that, on basis of the agreement reached with Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic, a team working on systematization will be formed and it will include members of the representative union. The rule books the representatives of the union asked for have been made.

Mijailovic said that the issues of the new uniforms and amendments to the Law on Police still remain unclosed.

The strike will continue for now. We will consider the additional solutions until we reach a joint stand on amendments to the Law and dynamics of equipping the police officers, Mijailovic told Tanjug late Monday, after a meeting with MUP representatives.

Members of PSS started a work-to-rule strike on Monday morning, dissatisfied with poor financial position of employees of MUP.
