Serbian President Boris Tadic will very soon go on a visit to Russia to sign strategic agreements with that country, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said Tuesday.
He told journalists that the Serbian Foreign Ministry was cooperating closely with the Russian colleagues on organizing the visit “during which the Russian and Serbian presidents will sign the agreements on strategic cooperation between the two countries.”
“Russia's institutions are currently preparing for elections, and we fully understand that it is not easy to find an appropriate date (for the visit of Tadic),” he said.
He explained that the issue was purely technical, adding that “very soon, we will have a return state visit of the president of Serbia to the Russian Federation.”
“We expect formalization, a confirmation of our strategic partnership - signatures to be put by the two presidents,” said the Serbian foreig minister.
Jeremic attended the tenth session of the Serbia-Russia intergovernmental commission for trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation.
