Activists of the Self-Determination Movement in Kosovo announced that on January 14 they will block entrance to Kosovo to all vehicles with Serbian licence plates, the Pristina-based daily Kosovo Sot reported.

MPs and leadership of the opposition Self-Determination Movement will take part in the action of blocking goods from Serbia, Self-Determination Movement MP Glauk Konjufca stated.

This will be a peaceful action. The only thing we want is to block the goods arriving in Kosovo from Serbia, we want to block all vehicles from Serbia transporting either goods or people, he stated for the Kosova Sot.

We want to block all vehicles coming from Kosovo with the licence plates of the state of Serbia, which does not allow vehicles with Kosovo licence plates to enter its territory, Konjufca stressed.

He added that the blockage will last until the decision of the Kosovo parliament on reciprocity measures towards Serbia start being implemented.

Kosovo Interior Minister Bajram Redzepi said that the police will preserve peace and order, but did not wish to specify details on the measures to be taken on January 14.

The opposition Self-Determination Movement announced the blockage of the Merdare and Bela Zemlja crossings because the Kosovo government is ignoring the conclusions of the Kosovo parliament regarding the securing of reciprocity with Serbia in political, economic and trade relations.
