Four Kosovo Health Ministry officials have been arrested by EULEX within an investigation conducted into corruption and embezzlements of public funds.

Four Kosovo Health Ministry officials have been arrested by EULEX within an investigation conducted into corruption and embezzlements of public funds.

One of the four arrested persons is the Ministry’s state secretary, Iljir Tolaj.

The four officials have been arrested on suspicion of several acts of corruption, including the manipulation of public tenders and entering into detrimental agreements, EULEX representative Nicholas Hawton is quoted by agency AP as saying.

The EULEX action was carried out on the order of the special prosecutor’s office.
