The Serbian parliament adopted Wednesday a total of 27 laws that confirm international agreements and treaties, including those by which Serbia guarantees loans totaling EUR 1.3 billion to several public enterprises.

With the adoption of the 27 laws and affirmation of the treaties and agreements, the Serbian parliament brought its second extraordinary session to completion and closed the period of extraordinary sessions. , The parliament is entering the period of regular sessions tomorrow, but it is still uncertain whether there will be any regular sessions, since new elections are to be called and held soon.
MPs approved Serbia's guarantee in favor of four commercial banks for the debt of the pharmaceutical company Galenika in the amount of EUR 70 million euros, which will be used to refinance the existing short-term liabilities of the company.
Serbia approved a guarantee in favor of the Komercijalna Banka bank based on the debt of the joint stock company Jat Airways in the amount of EUR 10 million euros (in RSD equivalent), which will be used to refinance the existing the companies short-term obligations.
The parliamentary deputies also approved a guarantee in favor of the Japan International Cooperation Agency for a loan of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia to finance the construction of a facility for the desulphurization of the Nikola Tesla thermal power plant.
The MPs affirmed a guarantee agreement between Serbia and the European Investment Bank that ensures the completion of works on the new bridge on the Sava River and roads in Belgrade.
Also affirmed was a loan agreement, between the Serbian government as a borrower and the Chinese Export-Import Bank as a lender, for the preferential buyer credit loan for the first stage of the Kostolac-B power plant projects package. Under the agreement, the Chinese bank should put USD 293 million at the Serbian government's disposal.
The lawmakers also affirmed a loan agreement with the government of Azerbaijan to finance the construction of a number of sections of the E-763 highway worth EUR 300 million.
