American heavy metal band Metallica gave a great concert at Belgrade's Usce late Tuesday in front of around 30,000 spectators, performing the Black Album in its entirety to mark the 20th anniversary of its publication.
The famous four - James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo - took the stage around 9 p.m., following a video clip and the theme from the movie "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" by Sergio Leone. They opened the show with the song "Hit the Lights."
The Black Album, which was number one in more than 25 countries and has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, was announced by a short movie showing the work on the album, footage from concerts in 1991 and 1992 and the band's photographs.
The Black Album ended with fascinating fireworks, which came as a surprise, since the entire concert went without pyrotechnics.
The opening acts for Metallica were French heavy metal band Gojira and American band Machine Head. The metal band from California, which performed in Serbia in 2004, presented their new album "Locust".
