The Serbian dinar is down by 10 para or 0.1 percent Friday, dropping to an official middle exchange rate of RSD 112.24 for one euro - an all-time low, despite a EUR 10 million intervention from the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).

Since the beginning of 2012, the central bank has sold a total of EUR 763.5 million on the interbank foreign exchange market so as to ensure smooth running of the foreign exchange market.

This year, the dinar hit its highest level against the single European currency on January 11 with the exchange rate at RSD 103.6922.
The dinar is 0.5 percent down on this time last month, and 11.7 percent down on the year.

On Thursday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 86.5182, reflecting a drop of 1.5 percent in comparison to its previous value, the NBS announced.

The dinar weakened against the U.S. dollar by 1.5 percent when compared to the level a month ago, and by 20.4 percent if compared to a year ago.
