First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic today stated that floods in Gadzin Han municipality caused huge damages which exceed the funds required for the regulation of the Kutin River that overflowed yesterday.

While visiting the flooded households in the villages of Taskovici and Marina Kutina, Dacic said that he will speak with the relevant state organs to make sure that works on the regulation of the river’s flow begin immediately.

Assistant Minister of the Interior and head of the Sector for Emergency Situations Predrag Maric stressed that ten members of the fire and rescue unit from Nis have been engaged in the area of Gadzin Han although the river has returned within its banks and that mobile and regional water rescue teams are on stand-by.

Over 100 hectares of agricultural land and 15 houses have been flooded in the municipality of Gadzin Han, and the Kutin River destroyed two smaller bridges on its course.

A total of RSD 10 million is required to dig up canals and adjust the river bed between the villages of Marina Kutina and Taskovici.
