Serbs organised a protest walk in northern Kosovska Mitrovica for the third day in a row, expressing their dissatisfaction over the arrest of Jovica Miljkovic in Suvi Do, near Mitrovica, last week.

Miljkovic was arrested on suspicion of participation in the group that demolished one of the guardhouses which members of the Kosovo Police Service intended to put up in one of the villages in the city last month.

Waving the flags of the Republic of Serbia, several hundred Serbs walked from the main bridge on the Ibar River to the building of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Court, where they reiterated their request for Miljkovic to be set free. The EULEX Prosecutor's Office took over Miljkovic's case and he was placed in detention for 15 days on May 19.
