Israeli aircraft bombed targets in the Gaza Strip early Thursday, a day after Palestinian militants fired dozens of rockets and mortar bombs across the border into southern Israel.

Hamas leaders said Israel's latest attacks targeted smuggling tunnels along the Gaza-Egypt border and one of its training camps in central Gaza. There were no casualties in the morning strike.

Israel’s military spokeswoman said the strikes were a response to a recent barrage of rockets.
