Twenty five movies compete this year at the 30th edition of the Istanbul Film Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV), that features an international and a national competition. The award ceremony, as Anatolia news agency reports, will take place on April 16.

This year's competitors at the International Film Festival are ''The Trip'' by Michael Winterbottom, ''Incendies'' by Denis Villeneuve, ''A Useful Life'' by Federico Veiroj, ''Our Grand Despair'' by Seyfi Teoman, ''Sound of Noise'' by Ola Simonsson & Johannes Stjarne Nilsson, ''Rio Sex Comedy'' by Jonathan Nossiter, ''The Piano in a Factory'' by Zhang Meng, ''The Mill and the Cross'' by Lech Majewski, ''Nobody Else but You'' by Gerald Hustache-Mathieu, ''Elisa K'' by Judith Colell & Jordi Cadena, ''Norwegian Wood'' by Tran Anh Hung, and ''Microphone'' by Ahmad Abdalla. Chaired by Claire Denis, this year's jury for the international competition includes Anna Bonaiuto, Piers Handling, Perihan Magden, Jim Stark, Jacob Tierney and Hulya Ucansu. The films competing in the National Competition are ''Press'' by Sedat Yilmaz, ''Broken Mussels'' by Seyfettin Tokmak, ''Our Grand Despair'' by Seyfi Teoman, ''72nd Ward'' by Murat Saracoglu, ''Hair'' by Tayfun Pirselimoglu, ''Unseen'' by Ali Ozgenturk, ''Toll Booth'' by Tolga Karacelik, ''the Plane Tree'' by Handan Ipekci, ''White as Snow'' by Selim Gunes, ''The Son'' by Atilla Cengiz, ''Merry Go Round'' by Iksen Basarir, ''Zephyr'' by Belma Bas and ''Ecumenopolis: City without Limits'' by Imre Azem. Reha Erdem heads the jury for the national competition. Tulin Ozen, Fatih Ozguven, Karel Och and Jay Weisberg are members of the jury. (ANSAmed).
