Armed clashes between the National Transitional Council units that were engaged in toppling Muammar Gaddafi are reported from Libya.

According to the local media, the clashes have been provoked by contesting the former commando training centre 30 kilometres away from Tripoli, the centre that the murdered Colonel Gaddafi son, Khamis, was in charge of.

The feuding units used heavy arms and large-caliber machineguns against one another. The panic-stricken locals fled their homes.
