Montenegro Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic considers as wrong the concept of simultaneous accession of Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia&Herzegovina and Montenegro to the European Union, promoting the 'regatta model' in EU enlargement.

Djukanovic told daily "Pobjeda" there are promoters of such an idea of simultaneous accession, bur believes this is not the right concept.

"If you try to force the package, this is like a train, which in the Balkan case adjusts the speed to the slowest car", says Djukanovic, without mentioning which country is the slowest car.

According to him, it would be more beneficial for these countries, but also for Europe and NATO, to adjust the speed with the one that makes most progress.

"It would be a fortunate circumstance for the Balkans if Serbia, being the largest car, is the fastest one, maybe even the locomotive of the train. This is not the case today, but hopefully soon", says Djukanovic, adding Serbia-Montenegro relations are gradually consolidating.

He underlines precedence should be given to those with optimum speed, with Montenegro having an excellent pace and promoting the 'regatta model' in the EU enlargement policy.
