Late on Friday, needed pipes for the repairs of Unit 6 in the Bulgarian Nuclear Power Plant of Kozloduy were delivered on a special flight from Russia to Sofia. The equipment has already been transported to the plant.

The emergency delivery became possible after the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was told about the issue by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

The special pipes needed for the safety systems of the power plant were originally produced for one of the NPPs currently under construction in Russia.

This way the repair works at Unit 6 in the Bulgarian plant will finish on time by the end of the month.

According to experts, previously expected delays would have caused losses of 700 000 euro daily, or totally about 150 million euro. After the issue was solved no losses are expected.
