In his video-message for the actual political situation in Albania, the President said that January 21 should not have happened; there should not have been victims or wounded persons and the law should not have been infringed. He said that “law was seriously infringed on January 21.”

The President of the Republic of Albania Bamir Topi declared that Albania is experiencing its worst crisis after the 90s. He said that bloodshed should have been avoided on January 21, and he called for political dialogue and an agreement between the parties.

In his video-message for the actual political situation in Albania, the President said that January 21 should not have happened; there should not have been victims or wounded persons and the law should not have been infringed. He said that “law was seriously infringed on January 21.”

According to Topi, the duty for transparency belongs only to the judiciary institution. “I ask the commitment of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Albanian Intelligence Service (SHISH), the State Police and the Guard of the Republic of Albania for immediately uncovering the truth about this event,” said President Topi.

“The division of powers is clear,” said Topi by asking to avoid political pressures. “This is the only way to enable an independent, all-inclusive and professional investigation, and to find the political and legal responsibilities that caused the victims, the wounds, the violence, the infringement of the constitution, the destruction of the public and private property and the infringement of human rights on January 21,” concluded Bamir Topi his message.
