Although many of the organisers had hoped for a crowd of 50,000, the royal wedding of the British family and the weather may have contributed to the weak turnout.
Some 200 people gathered Friday afternoon at 12pm on Zagreb’s central Trg Bana Jelacica square, falling far short of the expected 50,000 protesters.
Although many of the organisers had hoped for a crowd of 50,000, the royal wedding of the British family and the weather may have contributed to the weak turnout.
The protests were organised by several groups of pensioners, farmers and young people popularly called in the media as the "Facebook" protesters.
The organisers have announced another protest for 1 May at 10.30am on the central square, the daily 24 Sata writes.
