The Police of Tirana seized a great amount of narcotics and an ammunition arsenal thanks to two operations. In the “Mimi Blow” coded operation, which was carried in Peza e Madhe, police arrested three citizens, one of whom was the cousin of a Socialist Party’s deputy.

After threatening a citizen, the detained destroyed his car and a private business close to the area. After arresting the aggressors, during the routine inspections in the house of one of them, police discovered an ammunition arsenal and a grenade thrower.

“During an inspection made in the house of citizen Armand Peza, police seized 6 sub-machine guns, model 56 and model 54, a grenade thrower, one sniper rifle, two sniper binoculars, 20 guns, 9 missiles and 6100 bullets of different calibers,” said spokeswoman of the Police of Tirana, Alma Katragjini.

The other operation was carried in Vaqarr, where nearly 40 kilograms of cannabis sativa were seized. Police also arrested 36-year-old Altin Shehi, who was previously charged for rape. Shehi had transformed his house into a lab, which grew this plant; its destination was the domestic and the international market.

“From the inspection that was carried in his house, besides 40 kilograms of marihuana, police also seized a great amount of guns and ammunitions. During the inspection of this house, police found a considerable amount of powder, which is doubted to be marihuana, and 200 roots of narcotics, which are doubted to be cannabis sativa. They were planted in the yard of the house,” said Katragjini.

The Police of Tirana will continue its investigations for a wider network, which involves mainly the Balkan region.
