President Gjorge Ivanov on Tuesday will present a mandate to VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski to form the new government of the Republic of Macedonia.

President Gjorge Ivanov on Tuesday will present a mandate to VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski to form the new government of the Republic of Macedonia.

VMRO-DPMNE party won the most parliamentary seats at the June 5 snap parliamentary polls.

After receiving the mandate, Gruevski has 20 days to submit the structure and programme of the new government to the Parliament, which electes a government with a majority of votes.

Vice PM responsible for the implementation of the Ohrid Accord, Abdulaqim Ademi stated on Monday that a joint government platform has been agreed between DUI and VMRO-DPMNE.

"The platform includes topics and open issues that haven't been closed before and may have violated mutual relations. By closing all of these topics, we want to secure a European future for Macedonia as well as economic development. For the first time in plural Macedonia, the governmental program is jointly composed of the electoral programs drafted by the two parties that won the elections," Ademi stressed.

The names of the new ministers haven't been revealed yet, according to Ademi.

On Saturday, DUI's Ermira Mehmeti-Devaja said the initial distribution of posts and ministries in the new government would be 2:1.
