China has mandated its relevant ministers to work on the implementation of five major projects proposed by Romania in the fields of energy, transport and agriculture, Prime Minister Emil Boc announced after a meeting with Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao on Monday.

The five projects each worth at least one billion euros relate the building of Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant's reactors 3 and 4, building the Tarnita-Lapustesti heating plant, the Danube-Bucharest Canal, the Siret-Baragan Canal and the Bucharest bypass; all such projects are to be carried out under a public-private partnership.

'The Chinese side has expressly mandated its relevant ministers attending this meeting to immediately work on the technical details for the implementation of these projects, including the financial aspects, obviously by observing the two countries' specific rules and standards', Boc stressed.
