Direct damages of BiH companies doing business in Libya 108,8 mln Euro

Total direct damages to the companies that had business activities in Libya, up to the outbreak of war in that country, estimated at 108.8 million euro, and maximum losses were suffered by Energoinvest, Hidrogradnja, Sirbegovic Co. and Neimarstvo, with amounts exceeding seven million euro.

This was announced today at the committee meeting of the Association of Civil Engineering and Construction Materials Industry of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.
Companies from BiH at the moment of interruption of works in Libya had agreed works worth 659.1 million euro and expected profit from these jobs was to amount to 54.5 million euro. They also expected the signing of a significant number of new contracts worth 662 million euro.
President of the Association of Civil Engineering and Construction Materials Industry of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH Semin Masic said that it is not known precisely what are the final damages, considering that not all representatives of 17 companies that operated in Libya submitted information about their claims that they had no chance go to the field and determine the actual damages.
The equipment of BiH companies worth 15.2 million euro was left in Libya and materials worth 8.4 million euro, while the evacuation of about 800 workers from Libya cost BiH companies around 307,000 euro.
Unpaid debts of the companies to employees based on salaries amount to 3.9 million euro, and trimester wage costs for workers who returned to BiH amount to 1.4 million euro.
